1st Class Psychology Graduate – Behaviour Mentor


School: Hasmonean High School for Boys
Location: Hendon, North London (NW4 1NA)
Pay: £107.59 per day PAYE (including holiday pay)
Contract: Full-time, term-time only | Start date: September 2025


Are you a 1st Class Psychology Graduate with a passion for supporting young people and a strong interest in behaviour and mental health? Hasmonean High School for Boys is seeking a motivated and emotionally intelligent Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral and SEN support team this September.


This is an outstanding opportunity for a 1st Class Psychology Graduate to gain hands-on experience in a high-achieving secondary school, supporting students aged 13–18 with behavioural, emotional, and social needs. Working alongside the SENCO and pastoral staff, you will play a key role in mentoring students, improving behaviour, and promoting positive mental health.


Key responsibilities for a 1st Class Psychology Graduate Behaviour Mentor:

  • Provide 1:1 mentoring and targeted support for students with behavioural challenges

  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting emotional regulation

  • Support students in developing focus, resilience and self-confidence

  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and parents/carers to ensure joined-up support

  • Model calm, consistent and positive behaviour at all times


We’re looking for a 1st Class Psychology Graduate who is:


  • Dynamic, proactive and calm under pressure

  • Empathetic, patient, and confident in handling challenging behaviour

  • Strong in communication and able to build trust quickly

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Passionate about making a long-term difference in the lives of young people


This Behaviour Mentor role is ideal for a 1st Class Psychology Graduate exploring careers in:

  • Educational or clinical psychology

  • Mental health support

  • Behavioural interventions and youth mentoring

  • Teaching or specialist SEN roles


Previous 1st Class Psychology Graduates in similar roles have progressed into teacher training, postgraduate psychology programmes, and permanent behaviour support positions.
