Aspiring Child Therapist – Wandsworth – November 2025 Start
Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Contract: November 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: Minimum £444 per week (PAYE)

Are you a Psychology or Counselling graduate looking for experience supporting children’s emotional wellbeing?
This Aspiring Child Therapist role in Wandsworth offers hands-on experience working with pupils who require additional emotional or behavioural support. As an Aspiring Child Therapist, you’ll help children express themselves, manage emotions, and develop positive coping skills within a school setting.
In this Aspiring Child Therapist position, you’ll work alongside SEN staff, Speech and Language Therapists, and school counsellors, supporting pupils through both group and individual sessions. You’ll gain practical experience that will prepare you for further study or training in child therapy, counselling, or psychology.

The Role:
- Support pupils with emotional and social needs in class
- Assist with wellbeing interventions and mentoring sessions
- Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff
- Hours: 08:30–15:30 (term-time only)
We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology, Counselling, or related field
- Genuine interest in mental health and child development
- Calm, compassionate, and professional approach
- Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to apply
