A caring, resilient and proactive Behaviour Mentor is required for a thriving SEND School in Hammersmith & Fulham, supporting students with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and develop positive strategies for regulating their emotions and behaviour.

The school is seeking a Behaviour Mentor who can support pupils both in and out of the classroom, promoting a nurturing, safe and structured environment. Experience using Makaton, Team Teach, or other de-escalation and communication strategies would be highly advantageous.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
  • Provide day-to-day behavioural and emotional support to pupils with a range of SEND
  • Help implement behaviour support plans and promote positive coping strategies
  • Work 1:1 with identified students, helping them regulate emotions, develop social skills and manage challenging behaviour
  • Support teachers in maintaining a calm, safe and engaging learning environment
  • Use Makaton, Team Teach, or similar communication/de-escalation methods (training provided if needed)
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage confidence, resilience and self-esteem
Role Details:

  • Contract: Full-time, Monday – Friday
  • Hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • Start: ASAP or January
This Behaviour Mentor role includes excellent training and ongoing guidance from the SENCo and Behaviour Support Team, ensuring you excel in your position.
