Main responsibilities as an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant:

  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis with emotional regulation and behavioural challenges

  • Deliver tailored support for children with SEND and social, emotional needs

  • Use Emotional Literacy and ELSA techniques to improve pupil wellbeing

  • Build meaningful relationships with pupils and staff

  • Communicate effectively with parents and the wider pastoral team

  • Help students stay on track with curriculum and classroom routines

  • Monitor pupil development and implement appropriate interventions

What we’re looking for in an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant:

  • A 1:1 or 2:1 degree from a top 20 UK University (preferably in a related field)

  • Previous experience in a school setting or child-based environment preferred

  • Confident in managing behaviour and supporting emotional development

  • Prior experience with SEND and ELSA approaches essential

  • Strong communication and empathy skills

  • Desire to pursue a career in education or psychology

  • A proactive, creative, and adaptive team player
