About the Opportunity A high-achieving and inclusive school in the London Borough of Lambeth is working in partnership with a specialist education recruitment agency to appoint an ambitious and experienced English Lead.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner ready to step into leadership, or an established English Lead seeking a new challenge in a supportive and forward-thinking school.

The Role As English Lead, you will be responsible for driving standards in English across the school, leading on curriculum development, teaching and learning, and pupil outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the English curriculum across the school (including reading, writing and literacy)
  • Monitoring teaching, learning and assessment to ensure high standards
  • Supporting and coaching staff to improve practice in English
  • Analysing pupil progress data and implementing strategies to raise attainment
  • Promoting a love of reading and writing across the school
  • Contributing to whole-school improvement as part of the leadership team

The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an English Lead who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has a strong track record of teaching English
  • Has experience of leading, or the ambition to lead, a core subject
  • Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and curriculum expertise
  • Has the ability to inspire, motivate and develop colleagues
  • Is committed to high standards and inclusive education
