The leadership team is committed to supporting staff at every stage of their career and is now seeking an English Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons and contribute to a thriving department.

School & English Teacher Role Overview
  • High-performing secondary school in Ealing
  • Large mixed school with over 2,000 students aged 11–18
  • Modern facilities and well-resourced classrooms
  • English Teacher role teaching KS3 and KS4 (KS5 available for suitable candidates)

The English Department
The English department is a well-organised and collaborative team with a strong focus on delivering high-quality teaching and maintaining excellent outcomes. Students follow a carefully planned curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a high proportion continuing on to study English Literature and Language at A Level.

Teachers within the department regularly share resources, plan together and support one another to ensure consistency across year groups. There is a clear emphasis on developing pupils’ confidence in reading, writing and analytical skills, alongside encouraging a genuine interest in literature.

The department also promotes enrichment through activities such as reading groups, theatre visits and writing competitions, helping students to engage with English beyond the classroom.

Working at the School
Staff benefit from a supportive leadership team and a culture that values professional development. Teachers are offered regular CPD opportunities and are encouraged to continue developing their teaching practice.

Early Career Teachers receive structured mentoring and guidance, while experienced teachers may have opportunities to take on additional responsibilities within the department.

The school maintains high expectations around behaviour and achievement, creating a positive learning environment where teachers can focus on delivering engaging and effective lessons.

The successful English Teacher will be enthusiastic about their subject, organised in their approach and committed to helping students achieve their full potential. Applications are welcomed from both ECTs and experienced English Teachers.
