First-Class Maths Graduate – Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with high-attaining pupils in small groups or one-to-one settings

  • Deliver tailored academic support in Maths to ensure pupil progress

  • Maintain strong behaviour management in line with school policies

  • Collaborate with class teachers and the wider Maths department

  • Track pupil outcomes and support intervention strategies

  • Communicate effectively with staff, pupils and parents

  • Help SEN pupils access the curriculum, particularly those with Autism

  • Promote a positive, focused, and inclusive learning environment

  • Gain hands-on experience to support your progression into teacher training

First-Class Maths Graduate – Person Specification:

  • A 1:1 Maths Degree from a top 20 UK University is essential

  • Passionate about education and supporting pupil progress

  • Previous experience working with Autism or SEND desirable

  • Strong behaviour management and confident working with teenagers

  • A team player with excellent communication skills

  • Proactive, creative, and flexible approach to learning

  • Desire to train as a teacher in the future

  • Committed to working full-time in Barking & Dagenham
