About the Opportunity A high-achieving and inclusive secondary school in Lambeth is working in partnership with a specialist education recruitment agency to appoint an ambitious and experienced Head of Biology.

This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Biology teacher ready to step into leadership, or an established Head of Biology seeking a new challenge within a supportive and forward-thinking school.

The Role As Head of Biology, you will lead the Biology curriculum across Key Stages 3–5, driving excellence in teaching, learning and outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the Biology department
• Designing and delivering a high-quality, ambitious Biology curriculum
• Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment
• Coaching, mentoring and developing teaching staff
• Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment
• Contributing to whole-school improvement as part of the middle leadership team

The Ideal Candidate We are seeking a candidate who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has a strong academic background in Biology or a related field
• Has a proven track record of outstanding teaching and results
• Has experience leading a team or contributing to departmental improvement
• Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and curriculum expertise
• Is ambitious, organised and able to inspire both students and staff
