History Graduate Teaching Assistant – History Support Role

Location: Tower Hamlets
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Interviews: September 2025

Are you a History graduate looking to gain experience in education?

A well-regarded secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a History Graduate Teaching Assistant to support students across the History department.

As a History Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll work with pupils in KS3 to KS5, providing classroom assistance, subject-specific intervention, and academic mentoring. You’ll also support learners with SEN, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote engagement in History lessons.

Key responsibilities:
  • Providing in-class support in History lessons
  • Running 1:1 and group interventions for underachieving students
  • Helping with lesson resources, planning, and marking
  • Supporting students with SEND or EAL backgrounds
This role is ideal for aspiring History teachers or those interested in supporting students in History.

We’re looking for:
  • A 2:1 or First-Class degree in Mathematics or related field
  • A genuine interest in education and social development
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Commitment from September 2025 to July 2026.
