Learning Assistant – Hounslow – September 2025 Start

 
Location: Hounslow, West London
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only (39 weeks)
Hours: 09:00–15:30, Monday to Friday (30.5 hours per week including weekly meeting)
Pay: £21,684 per annum (Pro Rata) – Inner London
Start Date: September 2025 or as soon as possible

A supportive and inclusive special school in Hounslow is seeking a full-time Learning Assistant to join their dedicated team. This Learning Assistant role is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has a strong sense of empathy, and is committed to helping pupils with severe learning difficulties and autism thrive in a structured learning environment.

 
As a Learning Assistant, you will work with pupils aged 4–19 across a wide-ranging curriculum tailored to individual needs. You’ll provide essential support in both classroom and care-based settings, helping children access learning, develop independence, and feel confident throughout the school day.

 
Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils with complex needs and autism during lessons and therapy sessions
  • Assisting with communication, personal care routines and daily activities (training provided)
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and social interaction
  • Collaborating with teachers, therapists and families to provide consistent, high-quality support
  • Participating in weekly class meetings and school-wide development activities
 
We’re looking for:
  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a SEND setting
  • A calm, resilient and team-minded approach
  • Willingness to learn and undertake relevant training
  • Full-time, term-time only availability
