Are you a Learning Support Assistant ready to hit the ground running in a specialist ARP setting? This Learning Support Assistant opportunity is ideal for a Learning Support Assistant who is confident supporting small groups and 1:2 interventions.
 
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join in September 2026, working with Year 8 and Year 9 students across all subjects. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support two learners closely, helping them access learning and make consistent progress.
 
Role Overview | Learning Support Assistant
  • As a Learning Support Assistant, provide targeted academic support across KS3 subjects.
  • Work 1:2 and in small groups with Year 8 and Year 9 students.
  • Support pupils within an ARP setting, including those with Autism (ASC) and additional needs.
  • Maintain firm, clear boundaries while remaining kind, patient and consistent.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to support progress.
 
Learning Support Assistant | Candidate Profile
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related discipline from a leading university.
  • Strong A-Level results, ideally A* or A in relevant academic subjects.
  • Previous tutoring or school-based experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong academic background with confidence across core KS3 subjects.
  • A calm, resilient, and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with neurodivergent learners.
  • Ideal for aspiring teachers or education professionals.
