In this role, you will support student wellbeing by building positive relationships and offering a listening ear to students who need guidance. The position includes around 20 hours working directly with students and 15 hours of pastoral administration, including maintaining care plans and student records. You will also act as a first aider within the school community. Most of this work will take place in the medical room at the secondary site.
 
The school provides training and development courses to help you grow and excel in pastoral care and student support.
 
Pastoral Teaching Assistant & First Aider | Details:

• Contract-based role – Pastoral TA & First Aider
• Hours: 35 hours per week
• Start Date: Immediate
• End Date: July 2026
• Pay: £475 per week (PAYE)
• Previous first aid qualifications are not necessary, as the school will provide full training
• Opportunity to gain training and courses to develop skills in pastoral care and student welfare

 
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 pastoral support and guidance
• Promote wellbeing and act as a positive role model
• Maintain records and update care plans
• Respond to first aid incidents and support welfare
• Identify and address barriers to learning or attendance

 
Requirements | Pastoral Teaching Assistant & First Aider:

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum 2:1)
• Passion for supporting young people and promoting student wellbeing
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Interest in pastoral care, safeguarding or student support within schools
