Phonics Teaching Assistant – Bexley – April 2026

Phonics Teaching Assistant | What’s on Offer:

  • 36 hours per week, term-time only
  • Salary aligned with Bexley06, equating to approximately £25,600 per annum pro rata

Phonics Teaching Assistant | The Role:
  • Support the delivery of daily phonics lessons across EYFS and KS1.
  • Deliver targeted interventions for pupils who require additional support with reading and phonics.
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to strengthen decoding, blending and pronunciation skills.
  • Assist teachers with preparing phonics resources and structured literacy activities.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to class teachers and the SEN team.
  • Encourage a positive attitude towards reading and build pupils’ confidence with early literacy.
Phonics Teaching Assistant | Who We’re Looking For:
  • A graduate with strong literacy skills and a genuine interest in education.
