Primary Teaching Assistant (Autism Support) – Croydon | September Start
  • Location: Croydon, London
  • Salary: £450-£500 per week (Paid PAYE – no umbrella companies)
  • Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only
  • Contract Length: September 2025 – July 2026

We are working in partnership with a fantastic mainstream primary school in Croydon to recruit a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).

Primary Teaching Assistant - Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to primary-aged pupils with Autism
  • Encourage engagement, focus and participation in lessons
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO
  • Manage behaviour with empathy and consistency
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Support pupils both inside and outside of the classroom
Primary Teaching Assistant - Key Details:
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • Pay: £450-£500 per week (paid weekly via PAYE)
  • Location: Croydon, easily accessible via public transport
  • Contract: Full academic year (term-time only)
Primary Teaching Assistant - Person Specification:
  • Minimum 2:1 degree (Psychology, Education, SEN or related subjects ideal)
  • Experience working with children (ages 4–11), ideally with SEND or Autism
  • A confident, enthusiastic and patient personality
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Calm, professional and resilient approach to behaviour management
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting young people
