Location: Richmond, South West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £444.00 per week (PAYE)

As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping pupils develop their reading, writing, and maths skills. You will assist teachers with lesson preparation and resource creation, ensuring lessons are engaging and accessible for all pupils. This Primary Teaching Assistant role also involves promoting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development, encouraging participation in group activities, and building confidence in the classroom.

 
This Primary Teaching Assistant position is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering teacher training, educational psychology, or other education-focused careers. You will gain first-hand experience of how classrooms are run, how pupils learn, and how teachers plan effective lessons while developing strong communication, organisation, and classroom management skills. Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils across KS1 and KS2 lessons
  • Running small group interventions in literacy and numeracy

  • Promoting participation, confidence, and positive behaviour
  • Monitoring and tracking pupil progress and reporting to teaching staff

  • A UK degree at 2:1 or above
  • Excellent communication, patience, and organisational skills
