The Role – RE Teacher
As an RE Teacher, you will:
• Deliver a rigorous and well-sequenced Religious Education curriculum across KS3 and KS4
• Teach a broad range of religious, ethical and philosophical topics
• Encourage critical thinking, respectful debate and cultural understanding
• Use assessment effectively to identify misconceptions and address gaps in learning
• Adapt teaching to support pupils with SEND and those new to English
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and academic engagement
• Contribute to curriculum development within the humanities department

The Ideal RE Teacher Will Have:
• QTS and a strong academic background in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject
• Experience teaching RE at KS3 and KS4
• High expectations for achievement and behaviour
• Confidence using assessment to inform planning, with familiarity with exam boards such as AQA or Edexcel
• Commitment to inclusion and equal access for all pupils
• Clear communication and strong classroom presence
