Key responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide dedicated support to students with SEN and SEMH needs, on a 1:1 and group basis

  • Help deliver engaging and inclusive lessons, following the curriculum effectively

  • Lead interventions and support sessions focused on academic progress and emotional wellbeing

  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, demonstrating excellent communication skills

  • Collaborate with the SEND and pastoral teams to implement targeted support strategies

  • Use proactive, creative methods to manage behaviour and encourage positive engagement

  • Support classroom teachers across a large school environment

  • Take on responsibility and show initiative to work toward middle and senior leadership positions

Who are we looking for?

  • A driven SEN Teaching Assistant with a 1:1 Degree from a top 20 UK university

  • Holds QTS or is working toward a career in teaching or educational psychology

  • Previous SEN experience is essential, particularly within SEMH settings

  • Confident, supportive, and adaptable with a proactive mindset

  • A strong team player who is committed to student progress and attainment
