SEN Tutor (School-based) | London | INDCB
As an SEN Tutor, you will support children and young adults (ages 4–25) with a wide range of needs, including but not limited to:
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD / ADD
- Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia
- SEMH, Anxiety, Trauma
- PDA, Dyspraxia, Speech & Language needs
- Sensory Processing, Complex/Medical needs
- Other SEN/SEND needs
SEN Tutor | Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised 1:1 tutoring in core subjects (English, Maths, Science) and study skills.
- Use SEN-specific teaching strategies (e.g., Makaton, PECS, executive function tools).
- Foster social and emotional development, behaviour regulation, and independence.
- Track progress, adjust lesson plans, and communicate with parents or referring bodies.
- Collaborate with the school network and participate in team meetings or training.
SEN Tutor | What We’re Looking For
- Qualified teacher, specialist tutor, therapist (e.g., S&L, OT) or equivalent with SEN/SEND experience
- Strong knowledge of teaching strategies tailored to autism, dyslexia, ADHD, SEMH, trauma, PDA, etc.
- Empathetic, adaptable, and creative in session delivery
- Excellent rapport-building skills with students and families
- Experience in being a 1:1 SEN Tutor, mainstream/SEN schools, or therapeutic settings
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain) and right to work in the UK
