SEND Teaching Assistant – Hounslow – November 2025 Start
Location: Hounslow, West London
Contract: November 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: minimum £444 per week (PAYE)

A mainstream primary school in South West London is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a new SEND hub. These pupils have significant needs, including severe autism and developmental delay, and some require support with toileting and personal care. This role is ideal for graduates with a background in Psychology, Education, or related fields who are considering careers in SEN teaching, Educational Psychology, or Speech and Language Therapy.

About the School:
- Mainstream primary for ages 3–11 with increasing numbers of complex SEND pupils
- Early stages of developing a dedicated SEND hub
- Focus on inclusion and integrating pupils into mainstream classes when appropriate
- Supportive leadership team and collaborative working environment
The Role:
- Work 1:1 and in small groups to support pupils with complex SEND needs
- Assist with personal care, including toileting support where required
- Implement support plans in collaboration with the SEND Teacher and class staff
- Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and social interaction
- Hours: 08:30–15:30 with a 30-minute break
We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2:1 degree in Psychology, Education, or related subject
- Empathetic, resilient, and willing to work with pupils with complex needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience supporting children beneficial (but not essential)
- Enhanced DBS check, or willing to fill out a DBS form
