Teaching Assistant – Richmond – September 2025 Start

 
Location: Richmond, South West London
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only (39 weeks)
Hours: 09:00–15:30, Monday to Friday (30.5 hours per week including weekly meeting)
Pay: £21,684 per annum (Pro Rata) – Inner London
Start Date: September 2025 or as soon as possible

A highly regarded special school in Richmond is looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team supporting pupils with severe learning difficulties and autism. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, thrives in a nurturing environment, and wants to make a long-term impact in children's lives.

 
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils aged 4–19 across a broad and engaging curriculum, tailored to meet individual needs. Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other specialists, you’ll contribute to creating a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment where every child is known, valued and supported.

 
Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils with complex learning needs and autism in class and during therapies
  • Encouraging communication, independence and personal development
  • Helping to deliver structured, personalised learning and care routines
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Attending weekly class meetings and contributing to planning and reflection

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEND
