Job description

Behaviour Mentor – Haringey – September 2025 Start

Are you an empathetic and resilient graduate with a strong interest in behaviour and pastoral support? A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Haringey is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join their team in September 2025.

This Ofsted-rated 'Good' school places a strong emphasis on inclusion, pupil wellbeing, and high expectations. With a diverse student community, the school works hard to ensure every child has the tools to succeed both academically and socially. Their behaviour systems are built on restorative practice and positive reinforcement, and they have a well-established pastoral structure to support pupils at risk of disengagement.

Behaviour Mentor – What the School Offers
  • Bespoke CPD and behaviour support training
  • Strong induction and ongoing mentoring for new staff
  • Clear and consistent behaviour systems across the school
  • Collaborative and supportive staff team
  • Opportunities for teacher training or extended contracts for high performers

Behaviour Mentor – What the Role Involves
  • Providing 1:1 and small group mentoring for pupils with behavioural or SEMH needs
  • Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and engagement in lessons
  • Liaising with the SENCO and pastoral teams to ensure consistent support
  • Supporting in-class behaviour management and lesson transitions
  • Helping pupils develop self-regulation, confidence, and communication skills

Behaviour Mentor – What the School is Looking For
The ideal Behaviour Mentor will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university and have previous experience supporting children or young people in any capacity. You’ll need to be patient, confident, and committed to making a difference in a secondary school environment. A genuine interest in youth mental health, pastoral care, or teaching would make this role a perfect stepping stone.

(Please note, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position)

Behaviour Mentor – Salary and Contract Info
  • £444 per week – pro rata to term-time only
