Biology Graduate – What the Role Involves
As a Biology Graduate, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting teaching and learning in the biology department.
  • Assisting in the delivery of small group interventions.
  • Contributing to classroom management and pupil engagement.
  • Providing 1:1 or small-group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
 
Biology Graduate – What the School is Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
  • Hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree in Biology from a top 30 UK university.
  • Have previous experience working with children, particularly in educational settings.
  • Demonstrate a proactive, compassionate, and committed approach to supporting students.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop professionally.

Biology Graduate – Salary and Contract Info
  • Academic Mentor roles: £450–£530 per week, pro rata to term time only.
  • Contract: Full-time, long-term (September–July), term-time only.
  • Potential for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement.
