Biology Teacher – Haringey – January Start

What the Role Involves
As the Biology Teacher for the Sixth Form, your responsibilities will include:
- Teaching engaging A-level Biology lessons, adapting to students’ differing starting points
- Planning and designing a rigorous curriculum that stretches high achievers and supports learners needing catch-up
- Collaborating with colleagues in the science department on schemes of work, moderation, and cross-disciplinary projects
- Supporting students outside lessons (clinics, extra sessions)
- Acting as a tutor for a Year 12 or 13 group, providing pastoral and academic guidance
- Taking part in enrichment and co-curricular activities (e.g. science clubs, fieldwork, evening events)
What the School is Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a relevant degree in Biology or related life sciences
- Have experience teaching Biology at A-level (or strong evidence of capability)
- Be committed to high expectations for all students, with excellent subject knowledge
- Have experience or willingness to support students with diverse learning needs (including SEND)
- Be collaborative, reflective, and open to feedback
- Be enthusiastic, proactive, and passionate about helping students achieve their full potential
Salary & Contract Info
- Inner London Main Pay Scale: £38,766 – £50,288
- Upper Pay Scale: up to £60,092
- Permanent, Full-Time (part-time considered for exceptional candidates)
- TLR opportunities available dependent on experience and responsibility
