BSL Tutor – Haringey – September 2025 Start
 
Are you a confident BSL user with a passion for inclusive education? A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Haringey is looking to welcome a BSL Tutor to its team from September 2025.
 
This Ofsted-rated 'Good' school serves a diverse community and prides itself on creating a nurturing, child-centred environment where every pupil is supported to succeed. With a strong focus on inclusion and communication, the school offers specialist support for pupils with hearing impairments and other additional needs. Staff work collaboratively to deliver a broad, engaging curriculum and build positive relationships with pupils and families alike.

BSL Tutor – What the Role Involves
  • Delivering BSL support to pupils with hearing impairments across Key Stages 1 and 2
  • Supporting access to the curriculum and learning in both 1:1 and group settings
  • Working closely with the school’s SENCO and external specialists
  • Helping to promote inclusive classroom environments and communication strategies
  • Supporting wider classroom activities and contributing to pupil development
 
BSL Tutor – What the School is Looking For
The ideal BSL Tutor will be a proactive and compassionate individual with a minimum 2:1 degree from a top 30 UK university. Previous experience working with children in an educational or support setting is highly valued, along with strong communication skills and a genuine interest in SEN provision. Level 2 or 3 BSL certification is highly desirable.

BSL Tutor – Salary and Contract Info
  • £444 per week – pro rata to term-time only
  • Full-time, long-term contract: September 2025 to July 2026
  • Term-time only (Monday to Friday)
  • Opportunities for teacher training or contract extension for high-performing staff
