An Outstanding-rated secondary academy in South London is launching an exciting new Design Technology department, with Food Technology at its heart - and is seeking an ambitious Head of Design Technology to lead this project from the ground up.

This is a rare opportunity for a Food Technology specialist who has qualified and taught the subject, and who holds PGCE and QTS, to shape a brand-new curriculum area with real autonomy and long-term growth potential. A September start is planned, although earlier starts can be accommodated for the right candidate.

Initially, this role will suit someone confident working independently, who enjoys building systems, curriculum, and resources from scratch. You will have the freedom to design an ambitious Food Technology curriculum, establish high standards of teaching and learning, and lay the foundations for a department that is expected to grow over the coming years, with scope to build and lead a team.
