Pay: £444 per week (PAYE)

A high-achieving secondary school in Richmond is looking for a History Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their Humanities department in September. This History Graduate Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone looking to gain classroom experience before applying for teacher training.

 
As a History Graduate Teaching Assistant, you’ll support students across KS3 and KS4 in understanding key historical events, structuring essays, and preparing for their GCSE History exams. You’ll also work with small groups who need targeted support, and help prepare engaging resources linked to topics such as the Cold War, Elizabethan England, and the Civil Rights Movement.

 
History Graduate Teaching Assistant – Key Duties:

• Support History teachers with classwork, source analysis and marking prep
• Lead small group sessions focused on content revision and writing skills
• Help pupils develop structured arguments and exam technique
• Contribute to creative displays and classroom planning

 
We’re looking for:

• A recent History graduate with a 2:1 or above
• Someone enthusiastic about History and education
• A team player with great communication skills
• Full-time availability from September 2025
