Science Academic Mentor – Haringey – September 2025 Start

Science Academic Mentor - What the Role Involves
  • Delivering targeted support in Chemistry, Biology or Physics to KS5 students
  • Leading structured subject-based interventions and revision sessions
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to address knowledge gaps
  • Supporting student progress tracking in collaboration with subject leads
  • Offering in-class assistance to ensure curriculum content is understood and retained
 
Science Academic Mentor - What the School is Looking For
The ideal Science Academic Mentor will hold a 2:1 or First-Class degree in a science subject (Chemistry, Biology or Physics) from a top 30 UK university. Previous experience working with young people in any setting is highly valued. You’ll be a proactive and compassionate individual, eager to support sixth formers as they prepare for A-Level success and beyond. Strong communication skills, subject confidence, and a willingness to learn are essential.
 
Science Academic Mentor - Salary and Contract Info
  • £500–£550 per week, pro rata to term-time only
  • Full-time, long-term contract (September 2025–July 2026)
  • Term-time only role
  • Opportunities for future teacher training or contract extension
