SEMH Teaching Assistant – Alternative Education
Location: Cambridge
Contract: ASAP – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Are you an emotionally intelligent, flexible, and calm individual seeking a role supporting vulnerable children as a SEMH Teaching Assistant?
A rapidly expanding Alternative Education Provision in Cambridge is seeking a graduate to join their team as a SEMH Teaching Assistant, working with students who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, Autism, trauma-related difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you’ll support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups of up to 4 students, helping them to engage with learning and develop essential life and social skills.

- A graduate with a degree from a UK University
- Experience supporting children with SEMH needs (voluntary or paid)
- Strong emotional intelligence, resilience, and adaptability
- Commitment from ASAP until July 2026
