Job description

SEND Teacher – Specialist Resource Provision – Hounslow

A well-regarded primary school in Hounslow is seeking to appoint a dedicated SEND Teacher to lead a newly developing specialist provision from September.

If you are a SEND Teacher this is an exciting opportunity to take on a key role within a growing SEND team, working in a purpose-built resource provision designed to support pupils with additional needs within a mainstream setting.

School & SEND Teacher Role Overview
  • Inclusive primary school in Hounslow with a strong community ethos
  • Newly developed SEND Resource Provision within the school
  • Small class of up to 8 pupils, all with EHCPs
  • Supported by 2 experienced Teaching Assistants
  • Outer London MPS1 – UPS3
The SEND Provision
The provision has been recently established as part of the local authority’s wider SEND strategy and offers a specialist environment for pupils whose primary needs relate to communication, interaction and cognition & learning.

The class is intentionally small, with a maximum of eight pupils, allowing for a highly personalised approach to teaching and learning. Each pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), meaning support is carefully structured around their individual needs and long-term outcomes.

You will be supported by two skilled Teaching Assistants, with additional guidance from external professionals. The provision also benefits from links with a specialist partner school, providing ongoing expertise and development opportunities for staff.

This role offers the chance to shape and develop the provision further as it continues to grow, with plans to expand SEND support across the school in the future.

Working at the School
The school has a strong reputation for being inclusive and supportive, with a clear commitment to ensuring all pupils receive the support they need to succeed. Staff work closely together, and there is a genuine team ethos across the school.

Leaders place a strong focus on professional development, and staff benefit from regular CPD, collaboration with colleagues and opportunities to develop specialist SEND knowledge.

There is also a strong emphasis on working closely with families and external professionals to ensure pupils are well supported both in and out of the classroom.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with SEND pupils (in specialist settings)
  • Strong understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
  • Ability to lead a small team and work collaboratively with support staff
This role would suit an experienced SEND practitioner or a teacher looking to move into a more specialised role within a supportive setting.

If you are a SEND Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity in Hounslow where you can make a genuine difference, apply today to find out more.
