SEN Class Teacher – Enfield – Permanent Role

This specialist school in Enfield provides education for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties (SLD/PMLD), aged 3–19. SEN Class Teacher – What the Role Involves
  • Planning, delivering, and assessing a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to the needs of SLD/PMLD pupils
  • Leading and coordinating a class team, providing support and direction to Teaching Assistants and volunteers
  • Ensuring a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment with appropriate resources and displays
  • Maintaining accurate records, including learning objectives, IEPs, progress reports, and annual reviews
  • Working collaboratively with parents/carers, colleagues, and external professionals to support pupils’ development
  • Taking part in whole-school development planning, meetings, and training
  • Contributing to personal care programmes where required, safeguarding the health and wellbeing of pupils at all times
 
SEN Class Teacher – What the School is Looking For


The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher (Degree or equivalent in Education) with successful experience in either a special or mainstream school. You will be able to plan and deliver a broad, differentiated curriculum using a range of teaching strategies, while leading a class team effectively. Strong communication skills, an understanding of child development, and a commitment to supporting pupils with complex needs are essential. Experience in SLD/PMLD settings and additional qualifications in Special Education are desirable.
