A small, 1-form entry primary school in Wandsworth is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with a range of additional needs across EYFS and KS1. This role is ideal for graduates with a background in Psychology or Education who are interested in careers in Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, or SEND teaching.

About the School:
  • 1-form entry community primary school for ages 2–11
  • Built within a beautiful classical building with modern facilities and large playgrounds for both Nursery and Primary pupils
  • Expanding early years provision: new 2-year-old (24 pupils) and 3-year-old (32 pupils) settings, with a 9-month provision planned for January
  • High EAL population (around 60%) with over 49 languages spoken across the school
  • Recently restructured leadership with a brand-new, forward-thinking SLT
  • Five new teachers, including three ECTs, creating an energetic and collaborative environment
  • Strong focus on values-led recruitment: “skills can be taught”
  • Mornings are focused on academic progress, with afternoons offering broader curriculum and enrichment opportunities

The Role:
  • Supporting pupils with EHCPs and additional learning needs, including ASC and Speech & Language difficulties
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups to deliver personalised interventions
  • Collaborating with class teachers, SENCO, and external specialists to implement support plans
  • Encouraging pupil confidence, independence, and social interaction
  • Hours: 08:30–15:30 with a 30-minute break

We’re Looking For:
  • A minimum of a 2:1 degree in a BPS-accredited Psychology or related subject
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience supporting children (beneficial but not essential)
