SEND Teaching Assistant | The Role
- Immediate start – July 2026 (term-time only)
- £500 per week PAYE
- Supporting pupils with high SEN needs, primarily autism
- Working 1:1 and in small groups (up to 1:3)
- Supporting lower-need SEN pupils within the mainstream classroom
- Delivering Year 5 and Year 6 tuition
- Initially after school (3:20pm-4:25pm)
- Evolving into sessions during the school day as the year progresses
This role is ideal for a graduate with a strong Psychology degree or a closely related discipline, particularly if you are considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or therapy.
SEND Teaching Assistant | Person Specification
- Strong Psychology degree (2:1 or above preferred) from a Russell Group or top 20 UK university, or a related field
- Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly autism
- Resilient, proactive, and compassionate
- Confident delivering targeted interventions and tuition
- Passion for helping children with additional needs thrive
