Speech & Language Support Assistant – Wandsworth – September 2025 Start

 
Location: Wandsworth, South West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £444.00 per week (PAYE)
Interviews: June/July 2025

A primary school in Wandsworth is seeking a graduate to join their team as a Speech & Language Support Assistant. This role is ideal for someone considering a career in speech therapy or communication support.

 
As a Speech & Language Support Assistant, you will work with pupils who have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), helping them develop confidence, vocabulary, and social communication.

 
Key responsibilities:
  • Supporting pupils with speech and communication difficulties
  • Delivering structured speech and language interventions
  • Working closely with SENCOs and external therapists
  • Helping pupils build vocabulary and sentence structure
  • Supporting class teachers with inclusive strategies
 
We’re looking for:
  • A 2:1 or above in Linguistics, Psychology or Speech Sciences
  • An interest in speech therapy or SEN
  • Clear, confident communication skills
  • Commitment to the full academic year
 
Please note: This role is only open to applicants with a UK undergraduate degree. We cannot consider overseas degrees, even with a UK Master’s. Sponsorship is not available, so applicants must have UK citizenship or the right to work via settled status.
