Biology Academic Mentor – Science Support Role

Location: Greenwich, South East London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)

Are you a Biology graduate looking to gain experience in education?

A well-regarded secondary school in Greenwich is seeking a Biology Academic Mentor to support students across the Science department.

As a Biology Academic Mentor, you’ll work with pupils in KS3 to KS5, providing classroom assistance, subject-specific intervention, and academic mentoring. You’ll also support learners with SEN, helping to remove barriers to learning and promote engagement in Biology and wider Science subjects.

Key responsibilities:
  • Providing in-class support in Biology and Science lessons
  • Running 1:1 and group interventions for underachieving students
  • Assisting with lesson resources, planning, and marking
  • Supporting students with SEND or EAL backgrounds
This role is ideal for aspiring Science teachers or those interested in supporting students in Biology.

We’re looking for:
  • A 2:1 or First-Class degree in Biology or a related field
  • A genuine interest in education and inspiring young learners in Science
  • Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Commitment from September 2025 to July 2026
