BSL Tutor – Haringey – September 2025 Start

BSL Tutor – What the Role Involves
  • Delivering BSL-focused support to deaf and hearing-impaired pupils in both 1:1 and group settings
  • Supporting curriculum access through signed communication
  • Liaising with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to tailor learning support
  • Encouraging the social and emotional development of pupils through inclusive practice
  • Fostering BSL awareness among mainstream staff and students
  • Interviews to begin w/c 25th August 2025
 
BSL Tutor – What the School is Looking For
The ideal BSL Tutor will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK University and have demonstrable experience supporting young people, ideally within SEN or deaf education contexts. A recognised BSL qualification and fluency in sign language is essential. Schools seek applicants who are proactive, empathetic, and committed to inclusion, with excellent communication skills and a desire to grow in the role.

BSL Tutor – Salary and Contract Info
  • £444 per week, pro rata to term time only
  • Contract: Full-time, long-term (September–July), term-time only
  • Potential for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement
