SEMH Support Assistant – Haringey – September 2025

SEMH Support Assistant - What the Role Involves
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs, helping them to engage positively in learning
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies within the classroom
  • Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored interventions
  • Supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum, ensuring all students can access lessons effectively
  • Building trusting relationships with students, acting as a positive role model and mentor
 
SEMH Support Assistant - What the School is Looking For
The ideal candidate will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK University, and any prior child-centred experience will be highly valued. Schools are looking for individuals who are proactive, compassionate, and resilient, with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting young people. Please note, applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK, as we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
 
SEMH Support Assistant - Salary and Contract Info
  • £444-£500 per week, pro rata to term time only
  • Contract: Full-time, long-term (September–July), term-time only
  • Potential for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement
