Job description

SENDCo – Lead with Values, Transform Lives

We are delighted to be supporting a thriving South London Secondary School in recruiting an exceptional SENDCo to join their leadership team from January 2026.

This is a rare opportunity for a driven and values-led leader to shape SEND provision within an Outstanding school and make a transformational difference to young people’s lives.

Following its most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was judged Outstanding in all areas. Inspectors praised the inclusive ethos, warm and respectful relationships, and exemplary pupil behaviour. Outcomes are among the best nationally, with students thriving both academically and personally.

The successful SENDCo will be:
  • A leader who clearly embodies the school’s values in every decision and interaction
  • An influential people leader with experience in managing and inspiring teams
  • Fully qualified with NASENCo or NPQ SENDCo status
  • Skilled in managing a varied EHCP caseload and SEND provision across a diverse school community
  • Familiar and confident in parental engagement, building strong relationships with families
  • Experienced in supporting and constructively challenging EHCP consultations when necessary
  • Committed to delivering high-quality CPD to ensure all teachers are confident and skilled in SEND practice
In return, the school offers:
  • Competitive Inner London salary with TPS/LGPS pension schemes
  • £40,316 - £62,495 MPS/UPS + TLR2c (£8,610)
  • Extensive CPD, including leadership development and succession opportunities
  • A collaborative and supportive culture where staff voice is valued
  • A comprehensive wellbeing programme, from Pilates to staff socials
  • Practical benefits including Cycle to Work, Health Shield, and on-site parking
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or middle leader ready to step into SEND leadership. If you are passionate about inclusive education and driven by the belief that every child should reach their full potential, we would love to hear from you. Early applications are strongly encouraged.
