Science Academic Mentor – Richmond – September 2025 Start
Location: Richmond, South West London
Contract: September 2025 – July 2026 (Term-Time Only)
Pay: £444 per week (PAYE)
Interviews: June/July 2025
Are you a Science graduate looking to inspire young minds?
A supportive secondary school in Richmond is recruiting a Science Academic Mentor to join their team in September 2025. As a Science Academic Mentor, you will support students in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, helping them to understand complex topics and prepare for exams. The Science Academic Mentor role will include working in-class, assisting with lab activities, and leading small group support sessions.
You’ll also help teachers prepare resources and monitor pupil progress. If you’re a graduate considering a future in teaching, the Science Academic Mentor role is a fantastic first step.
Key responsibilities:
• Supporting practical science lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering intervention sessions and homework help
• Encouraging pupils to stay focused and motivated
• Helping with revision for GCSEs
We’re looking for:
• A 2:1 or above in a Science-related subject from a UK university
• Strong communication and subject knowledge
• A positive and proactive attitude
• A full-time commitment from September 2025
Please note: This role is only open to applicants with a UK undergraduate degree. We cannot consider overseas degrees, even with a UK Master’s. Sponsorship is not available, so applicants must have UK citizenship or the right to work via settled status.
