Are you an experienced SENDCo ready to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and forward-thinking primary school in Barking & Dagenham? This exciting SENDCo opportunity begins in September, offering you the chance to lead inclusive practice at the heart of a vibrant school community.

Based in a welcoming Primary School setting, this role places inclusion, high expectations and early intervention at the centre of school life. As SENDCo, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring all pupils — particularly those with SEND — are supported to thrive academically, socially and emotionally from the earliest stages of their education.

As the SENDCo, you will:

  • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision, ensuring inclusive practice across all key stages

  • Line manage 8 support staff, providing clear direction, support and professional development

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents and external professionals to identify, assess and meet a wide range of needs

  • Champion high-quality provision and access to learning for pupils with SEND across the curriculum

  • Develop and deliver effective staff training to strengthen inclusive classroom practice

  • Ensure statutory requirements are met, with high-quality EHCPs, provision maps and individual support plans

  • Use assessment and data to monitor progress, evaluate interventions and drive continuous improvement

Why apply for this SENDCo role?

  • Join a school with a strong, inclusive ethos and a clear commitment to pupil wellbeing and achievement

  • Work within a supportive leadership team that values collaboration and professional development

  • Make a tangible difference in a primary setting where early support has a lasting impact

  • Be part of a calm, purposeful environment with dedicated staff and engaged pupils

This SENDCo position in Barking & Dagenham is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate professional ready to lead inclusive practice from September.
