A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Head of Design & Technology to lead a thriving DT department at a successful secondary school in Essex.

This full-time, permanent position is ideal for a talented Design & Technology Teacher with good knowledge of Resistant Materials ready to take the next step into leadership, or an existing Head of Design & Technology looking for a new and exciting challenge. The school, part of a well-established academy trust, is known for its strong leadership, inclusive ethos, and commitment to staff development.

As Head of Design & Technology, you will oversee a committed team delivering across a broad and exciting DT curriculum, including Resistant Materials, Product Design, Food Technology, and Textiles. The department benefits from excellent facilities, including specialist workshops and equipment, and enjoys strong student engagement at both KS3 and KS4.

We are looking for a Head of Design & Technology who:

• Has UK QTS and strong experience teaching DT across key stages
• Has an expertise with Teaching Resistant Materials
• Can lead curriculum development and raise achievement
• Is passionate about fostering creativity and practical learning
• Has the ability to inspire staff and students alike
