The Role – Year 6 Teacher As a Year 6 Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across the Primary Curriculum, with a strong focus on preparing pupils for Year 6 SATs.
- Build a purposeful, calm and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel confident and supported.
- Use assessment effectively to track progress, identify gaps and drive attainment.
- Provide targeted interventions to ensure all learners reach their full potential.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, parallel class teachers and the senior leadership team.
- Support pupils with their transition to secondary school, both academically and pastorally.
- Contribute to wider school life, including enrichment activities, trips and whole-school events.
- A strong and supportive ECT induction programme with experienced Upper KS2 mentors.
- Clear progression opportunities, including subject leadership pathways.
- A collaborative and forward-thinking staff team.
- Leadership that prioritises professional development, staff wellbeing and workload balance.
- Well-behaved, motivated pupils who are eager to learn.
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have a secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Be confident in preparing pupils for SATs while maintaining a broad and engaging curriculum.
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills.
- Show genuine passion for supporting pupils academically and emotionally in their final year of primary school.
- Be reflective, proactive and committed to continuous professional development.
